![]() ![]() INXS inxs elegantly wasted michael hutchence tragic last albums just wow it's bittersweetĪ few years back I did a rundown of my TOP TEN ALL TIME FAVOURITE BANDS, the ten bands that MOST made me the (relatively) well-rounded music fan that I am today (granted, a lot of it’s rock and metal, but there’s other stuff in there too), and it was good. Michael Hutchence was clearly such a vital, intrinsic part of what made INXS so special, there’s no way it could be ANY GOOD … ![]() It’s very much like when I rediscovered Big Country - it just won’t be the same with any other vocalist. I know the rest of the band carried on afterwards, they’ve got two more albums to their name after this one, but I really don’t think I can continue beyond Elegantly Wasted. For example, currently I’m on INXS’ Elegantly Wasted, their final album before Michael Hutchence tragically lost his life. Sometimes, doing these musical discovery deep dives can be SUCH A HEARTBREAT when the music’s really great, and you have to remember an inherent tragedy in the band’s story. ![]()
